Remember to Count What’s Working
“One way to be kind and gentle with yourself as you learn is to count everything that moves in the right direction.” – L. Michael Hall, Executive Director, Neurosemantics
No, it’s not my quote. I wish it was. I’ve just read Michaels’ article below and found it inspiring. It resonates deeply with me as this is part of the technology of how we achieve our hopes and dreams. Setting a well-formed outcome, mapping out a plan and then letting go of it and focusing on one, tiny, caterpillar step at a time, recognising achievements, looking forward to the next tiny step forward equals progress. A great reminder for me … tracking my progress, no matter how little, helps to maintain my motivation and keep me energized and inspired to continue. Something I know I need right now. I call it caterpillar steps. What caterpillar steps in the right direction did you take today?
Activate your inner strength by having a read of Michael’s article below. It’s not on his website yet, so I’ve pasted it below, fresh from my email, (well it’s fresh ‘cos I read it today!), and you can find his website here if you’d like more.
